Spring Topiary Tree with Plastic Forks

Materials

1 large white styrofoam cone (approximately 24 inches tall)

100 bright green plastic forks

1 small ceramic bird

Hot glue gun with glue sticks

Wire cutters or strong scissors

Directions

Start by preparing your workspace and gathering all materials in one place.

Use the wire cutters or strong scissors to trim the handles of the plastic forks, leaving about 2 inches of the handle attached to the fork head.

Beginning at the bottom of the styrofoam cone, insert the fork heads into the cone. Ensure the forks are slightly angled upwards to mimic the appearance of leaves on a tree.

Continue inserting the forks in a circular pattern, working your way up the cone. Overlap the forks slightly to give a fuller appearance.

Once you’ve reached the top of the cone, use the hot glue gun to secure the small ceramic bird at the peak of the topiary.

Allow the glue to dry completely before moving or displaying your topiary tree.

Variations & Tips

For a different look, consider using forks in various shades of green to create a gradient effect. You could also paint the styrofoam cone with a soft pastel color before inserting the forks to add another layer of color. For a more festive touch, string small LED lights around the topiary for evening illumination. Additionally, swap the ceramic bird for a different topper, like a small butterfly or dragonfly, to match the theme of your outdoor decor.
